Madeleine Dietz: Earth, Steel, and Light

Madeleine Dietz, born in Mannheim in 1953, is known for her large-scale sculptures and installations, which she creates primarily using various combinations of earth, steel, and light. Her works are based on geometric shapes, such as rectangles, squares, triangles, and circles. More recently, she has also been creating paintings that combine earth and light to produce a mysterious effect. With their minimalist, abstract visual language, the works radiate a great deal of power and energy while simultaneously conveying a sense of calm and focus. The artist, who lives in Landau-Godramstein, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Fine Arts by the Palatinate District Association in 2024.
