Sculptures in particular, with their three-dimensionality and surface stimuli, are something you want to experience with your sense of touch. In public spaces this goes without saying. But why – in a museum – is it only possible as an exception and under certain conditions? Because museums also have the responsibility to ensure that the works of art are preserved as undamaged as possible, for as long as possible.
